Torsion Spring
Torsion springs belong to the category of helical springs. Their ends are fixed to other components, and when these components rotate around the center of the spring, the spring pulls them back to their initial position, generating torque or rotational force. Torsion springs can store or release angular energy or statically fix a device by rotating the arm around the spring’s central axis. These springs are usually solid, but there is spacing between the coils to reduce friction. They resist rotation or external rotational forces.
Key points for selecting torsion springs:
- Load: Select size based on the working load limit in the catalog.
- Material: Choose material based on actual operating temperature and corrosion resistance; 304 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, piano wire has high tensile strength and better flexibility.
- Tolerance: Choose between inside diameter or outside diameter reference types based on actual usage requirements.
- Working stroke: Refer to the working stroke in the catalog or communicate with corresponding technical personnel.
Maintenance of torsion springs:
- Regularly spray anti-rust oil (1-2 times a month).
- Regularly check if the springs are pinching foreign objects and clean surface dust.
