Wave Spring
Firstly, the application of wave springs is very diverse, which leads to different types or materials of wave springs. Therefore, we first need to clarify what our working space is like; the working space usually refers to the position of the wave spring in a hole or on a shaft. The distance between the load-bearing surfaces of the wave spring determines the axial motion space or working height.
Secondly, we need to understand the load requirements. The load of the wave spring refers to the force generated by the working height of the spring itself and the axial applied force. Some applications may require two or more working heights, which must be prioritized for design consideration, especially when there are tolerances arising from stacking. In such cases, the minimum and maximum loads should be taken into account in the design to avoid errors and ensure that it meets the expected working environment.
The third point to note is the actual working environment of the wave spring. Generally speaking, high temperature conditions, dynamic applications (fatigue), corrosive substances, or other special application environments and conditions must be included in the evaluation scope. For various different working environments, the best approach is to select the most suitable raw materials and operating stresses to optimize the performance of the spring.
