The manufacturing methods for shrapnel sheets are cold rolling and hot rolling. Cold rolling is generally used for shrapnel wire with a diameter of less than 8 mm, while hot rolling is used for those greater than 8 mm. Some shrapnel sheets need to undergo strong pressing or shot peening after production, which can improve the load-bearing capacity of the sheets.

The electrical resistance of contact sheets must be low, hence they are typically made of bronze.

If the fixed structure and loading method can ensure that the working length of the shrapnel remains unchanged, then the stiffness of the sheet shrapnel is constant within the small deformation range; if necessary, nonlinear characteristics can also be achieved, such as compressing the spring against a stop plate or adjusting screws to change its working length.

Stainless steel shrapnel sheets can produce significant elastic deformation when loaded, converting mechanical work or kinetic energy into deformation energy, while the deformation disappears and returns to its original state after unloading, converting deformation energy back into mechanical work or kinetic energy.
