Hardware Shrapnel
The hardware shrapnel is an elastic component, usually made of stainless steel, copper, iron, and manganese materials. It mainly relies on elasticity to play a role in controlling the movement of mechanical parts, converting mechanical energy into deformation energy.
I believe that many of you have encountered situations where hardware shrapnel deform or do not rebound when pressed, so what are the general causes of such problems?
- If the tempering temperature of hardware shrapnel after forming is too high and lasts too long, it will lead to insufficient compressive elastic strength.
- If hardware shrapnel are not subjected to heat treatment after production, it will result in insufficient elasticity of the shrapnel.
- Frequent load use of the shrapnel, exceeding the limits of the shrapnel’s capacity, will cause the shrapnel to lose its elasticity.
- If the structural design of the shrapnel is unreasonable, with uneven wall thickness, it will lead to inconsistent stress and is prone to deformation.
- When the stress on the cross-section of the shrapnel exceeds its strength limit, it is susceptible to fracture failure under varying stress.
